The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway

The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway
A wonderful way to see the picturesque hamlets and villages of the Cotswold countryside.

The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway was opened in 1981 by steam enthusiasts who restored the long-closed railway line, from Stratford Racecourse to Cheltenham Racecourse, to its former glory.

Today, its steam and diesel locomotives are a major attraction and the railway offers fantastic cross-curricular learning experiences for children from reception age right up to GCSE level – all year round.

Cheltenham Festivals

Cheltenham Festivals
Cheltenham is known for its fantastic annual music, science, literature and jazz festivals.

From just three concerts at the very first Cheltenham Festival back in 1945, the town’s four big festivals now invite more than 2,500 of the world’s finest musicians, writers, scientists, performers and thinkers to come to the town.

The charitable organisation behind the festivals runs an extensive education programme, with a range of workshops, talks, projects and activities on offer to schools.
