A ‘different’ trip for any age group, Geevor is dramatically situated on the Atlantic coast.
Geevor is the largest preserved mine in the country. Explore the over-ground buildings and machinery before taking a trip deep underground for the authentic tin-mine experience.
The tour guides at Geevor are all ex-miners with a great sense of humour, so they will make your visit fun. But if you don’t fancy going down the mine, there are plenty of interesting interactive museum exhibits above ground.

Penlee House Gallery and Museum
A fantastic little museum that’s home to a marvellous collection of art and antiquities.
Penlee isn’t the biggest museum in the world, but it’s home to a marvellous collection of art and antiquities from the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age right up to recent history.
When you arrive, get hold of an activity sheet, take a tour and get on a workshop – the museum even lets grown-ups have a go too. Saturday’s a good day to go for fun activities, and they’re all free if you’re under 18!

Tintagel Castle
Half on the mainland and half on a jagged headland, the ruins of Tintagel are spectacular.
When you reach Tintagel Castle, you’ll see why it’s the subject of so many local tales. Its exhibition explores the area’s links to the legends of King Arthur and how they inspired the Earl of Cornwall to build his castle here.
There’s also a lovely sandy beach (one of Tintagel’s best-kept secrets), where you can build your own castle. If the tide’s out, you’ll also be able to explore Merlin’s Cave!
