The Clifton Suspension Bridge
Spanning the picturesque Avon Gorge, this Grade I listed landmark joins Bristol to Somerset.
The symbol of the city of Bristol, this Grade I listed bridge has attracted visitors from all over the world for almost 150 years. Visit the visitor centre to find out how it was built, why the design changed so many times, and how the daredevil bridge-builders managed to get the suspension chains from one side to the other – an impressive secret only discovered 140 years after the bridge opened!

SS Great Britain
Stroll the decks, peep inside passenger cabins, marvel at the massive engine and much more!
The Dockyard Museum has lots to see, hear, touch and smell! Learn the remarkable story of Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s SS Great Britain, from her launch as a luxury liner to her rescue from the bottom of the South Atlantic.
If you’re feeling brave, you can even climb the rigging and edge out onto the main yard… but fear not; if you’re more of a landlubber, there’s still plenty to excite your senses here!

Bristol Zoo Gardens
Bristol Zoo has helped save over 175 species from extinction in human care and in the wild.
A visit here is always fun, but Bristol makes it even more so with several special experiences you can book on in advance.
Fancy being an animal keeper for the day? Or having a meet-and-greet with the lions and gorillas? If you’re over 6 years old, you can feed the lions, meet the meerkats, penguins, fruit bats, giant tortoises and more. You can even have your birthday party in the zoo’s Jungle Hideaway!

M Shed
This fab museum in a dockside transit shed tells Bristol’s story through the centuries.
With 3,000 artefacts on display documenting Bristol’s past, M Shed has everything from Aardman’s little Wallace and Gromit models to gargantuan working cranes.
There’s plenty for the whole family here, all year round, but the weekend’s definitely the time to go. That’s when you can take a trip on two different antique tugboats and hop aboard the dockside steam railway (originally built by GWR)!
